The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and the NCCN Foundation announce Young Investigator Awards annually to support early-career researchers addressing important issues in oncology. The program funds work spanning cancer biology, treatment development, diagnosis, and care delivery, with the goal of advancing cancer care and supporting future research leaders at NCCN Member Institutions.
Funded projects have examined resistance to cancer therapies, tumor microenvironments, molecular residual disease, immunotherapy combinations, imaging and molecular biomarkers, early detection, and treatment-related neurotoxicity. Patient-centered research has included navigation for patients with breast cancer and high-risk social determinants of health, equitable access to cellular therapies, and patient- and caregiver-triggered palliative referrals. The NCCN Oncology Research Program (ORP) manages application submission and selection and provides guidance and oversight throughout funded projects.
