The National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) and David H. Olson, Ph.D., sponsor this annual grant to support creative contributions to Family Science that connect research, theory, and practice. First awarded in 2020, the program advances NCFR’s commitment to applying rigorous research and theory to real-world issues affecting people and families.
Priority goes to projects related to the Circumplex Model of Couples and Families or the PREPARE/ENRICH Program, particularly research using the FACES IV assessment, Clinical Rating Scale, or PREPARE/ENRICH couple database. The Circumplex Model examines flexibility, cohesion, and communication; PREPARE/ENRICH supports premarital education and marriage counseling. Review considers research quality, creative contributions to the discipline, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
