    Description

The National Coalition of Independent Scholars (NCIS) offers Conference Support Grants to help members contribute actively to professional conferences, performances, and installations. Supported roles include organizing a conference, presenting a paper, chairing or moderating a session, participating in a discussion panel or roundtable, giving a performance, and presenting visual art. Attendance alone is not eligible.

The program supports scholarly work within a recognized field of scholarship. Presentations and performances must be intended for publication or appropriate dissemination, while inclusion in conference proceedings is sufficient for chairs, moderators, and panel or roundtable participants. Virtual conferences are eligible, including associated child-care or elder-care expenses. Events must take place after the award decision date; support cannot be applied retroactively.
