The NCTE Affiliate Creative Pathways Award honors affiliates that go beyond traditional recruitment to provide meaningful, sustained support for educators entering teaching. Established in 2026, it recognizes work with recently graduated education majors, career-switchers, and teachers entering through temporary or alternative certification routes. The award emphasizes support aligned with NCTE’s mission, values, and position statements.
Administered by NCTE’s Committee on Affiliates, the award recognizes mentorship, targeted programming, inclusive outreach, and opportunities for new teachers to participate in affiliate leadership. Support should extend beyond recruitment and initial membership into teachers’ early career years. Outstanding affiliates are recognized annually at the Affiliate Breakfast during the NCTE Annual Convention.
