The Pasold Research Fund offers this fellowship through a bequest from Catherine Janet Neaverson. It is a limited series of short-term postdoctoral fellowships offered biennially between 2025 and 2029, supporting in-depth research and the development of new projects in textile and dress history. Projects may lead to a book, article, curatorial project, or further major research project.
The Fund’s remit encompasses the economic, social, industrial, and cultural history of textiles, their technological development, design and conservation, dress history, and other uses of textiles from prehistory to the present. Textile history must be a substantial focus of the project. The fellowship prioritises research intended for submission to Textile History or sharing with relevant archives and collections, and does not support projects focused on contemporary textile production.
