Description
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Fellowships program provides competitive awards to individual scholars for projects that demonstrate outstanding research, thoughtful analysis, and clear writing in the humanities. These fellowships offer recipients the time and support needed to conduct research or produce major scholarly outputs, such as books, monographs, peer-reviewed articles, digital resources, translations with critical apparatus, or critical editions. Projects may be at any stage of development.
For the anticipated 2027 cycle, only projects focusing on American history and culture or Western civilization (from antiquity to the present) are eligible. The program encourages applications from independent and junior scholars, as well as established researchers.
