    Description

Multi-State and National Earthquake Assistance (MSNEA) is administered by FEMA through the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program (NEHRP). It funds nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher education with the critical skills to develop and implement regional, multi-state, or national earthquake risk mitigation activities on behalf of states and territories participating in FEMA’s NEHRP State Assistance program. The goal is to reduce risks to life and property from future earthquakes and strengthen earthquake risk reduction at national, state, and local levels.

Priorities include support for the Eastern and Western assistance regions, seismic community professional development, business-sector outreach, and annual ShakeOut earthquake preparedness drills for individuals and communities. All funded activities must align with NEHRP’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.
