Description
This program provides emergency financial support to individuals and families facing economic hardship in the Berkshire Taconic region, which includes Berkshire (MA), Columbia (NY), northeast Dutchess (NY), and northwest Litchfield (CT) counties. Grants are intended as one-time interventions to address urgent needs such as overdue utilities, medical bills, short-term housing costs, and transportation problems. Funds are disbursed directly to vendors (e.g., landlords, utility companies, pharmacies, mechanics) on the applicant's behalf. The initiative is managed in partnership with a network of trusted local social service agencies, which also help connect recipients to other available services.
