Description
The Rhode Island Foundation’s Neighborhood Grants program supports resident-led community-building efforts that bring Rhode Islanders together. It aims to strengthen connections among neighbors, deepen relationships between people and public institutions, and create equitable, thriving communities. Supported work fosters social networks, collaboration, community engagement, and relationships that endure across experiences.
Projects may activate shared public spaces, host neighborhood gatherings, improve urban green spaces, or preserve cultural traditions. The program also supports efforts that help communities identify goals, solve problems, make group decisions, encourage volunteerism, and share arts and cultural activities. Funding covers one-time costs for new initiatives or enhancements to existing programs, with an emphasis on accessible, locally relevant projects that produce visible results and lasting impact.
