The NESOT Paper of the Year Award is administered by the Northeast Society of Toxicology (NESOT) through the Society of Toxicology. It recognizes an exceptional recent publication in toxicology by a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow, honoring completed scientific work rather than supporting a proposed research project.
The award focuses on the quality of a trainee’s first-authored, peer-reviewed paper and how effectively the research is developed and communicated. Review considers the manuscript’s scientific reasoning, research approach, methods, results, and discussion. The recipient receives a certificate and, depending on funding availability, a monetary honorarium. Recognition takes place at the NESOT reception during the SOT Annual Meeting.
