Description
The Nestlé Foundation supports research addressing maternal, child, and adolescent nutrition in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Projects should generate evidence with practical potential to improve nutrition and health, particularly for vulnerable populations. Priorities include breastfeeding and complementary feeding, nutrient deficiencies, infection–nutrition interactions, nutrition education, and local food-based interventions. The Foundation also considers emerging areas such as gut health and precision nutrition when they serve its public-health goals.
The grants combine research with local leadership, training, mentorship, and institutional capacity building. A modular approach can support a small training or pilot study before a larger research project; a prior award does not guarantee subsequent funding.
