The Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (NETRF) Mentored Research Award encourages early-career investigators to establish expertise and a lasting commitment to neuroendocrine cancer research. Projects typically have two aims requiring two years of work, led by one principal investigator with or without collaborators. The program supports basic, translational, and select compelling clinical research aligned with NETRF’s Research Roadmap: early detection, new therapeutic development, and precision medicine.
Research funding is paired with a practical training and mentoring plan. NETRF-provided BOSA mentors supplement the investigator’s institutional mentoring committee, reviewing progress, addressing barriers, and supporting career development. Awardees and their academic mentoring teams must meet with BOSA mentors annually during the project. Scientific milestones and longer-term research and career outcomes are monitored throughout and after the award.
