--- ## Description This award honors individuals who have made impactful independent contributions to neuro-infectious disease research. Recipients are recognized for advancing the understanding of neuro-infectious diseases and are expected to deliver a 10-minute lecture during an infectious disease scientific session at the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Annual Meeting. The award includes a certificate, a minimum $1,000 cash prize, and complimentary registration for the meeting. --- ## Due Dates - October 2026 (anticipated, full application deadline) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - Minimum $1,000 cash prize - Certificate of recognition - Complimentary registration for the AAN Annual Meeting --- ## Eligibility - No more than five years from completion of the most recent training program - No higher academic rank than assistant professor - Applicants do **not** need to be AAN members - Industry employees are **not** eligible - Open to both self-applicants and nominations --- ## Application Process Applicants must submit: - Completed application form - Current CV - Letter from the applicant summarizing their research program, independent contributions to neuro-infectious disease research, and rationale for receiving the award (must reflect independent research, not just case reports) - Letter of support from a colleague or mentor **Nominations:** Nominators should complete the application form, select "I wish to nominate someone," and the nominee will be contacted to complete the application.
