    Description

The Neurological Foundation’s Senior Clinical Research Fellowships provide personal salary support for medically qualified clinicians practising in a neurological discipline who have established themselves as independent researchers. The fellowships support clinical neurological research at healthcare organisations in New Zealand, enabling clinicians to devote time to research rather than funding equipment or project running costs.

Research must contribute to understanding, prevention, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment or management of diseases and disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems. Proposals should have clear outcomes that add to neurological knowledge and demonstrate potential impact, including advances in clinical practice, neuroscience capacity, training or collaboration. Research into the pathogenesis of neuropsychiatric and neuropsychological disorders is within scope, but work concerned only with managing mental health disorders is not.
