Description
The Neurologist-in-Training Clinical Ethics Elective (NITCEE) is designed to provide neurology residents and fellows with immersive training in clinical bioethics. Sponsored by the Ethics, Law, and Humanities Committee, the program focuses on equipping participants to address ethical challenges in clinical practice, research, and education—such as surrogate decision-making, end-of-life care, genetic counseling, and health disparities. Participants will undertake a scholarly bioethics project, receive mentorship from field leaders, and present their work as a poster at the AAN Annual Meeting. The elective also includes attendance at the Yale Foundations of Bioethics Course and offers the possibility for one participant to serve as an ex officio member of the Ethics, Law, and Humanities Committee.
