The American Neuromuscular Foundation (ANF) supports mid-career and established investigators pursuing exploratory or high-risk/high-reward research in muscle and nerve disorders. Projects must directly relate to a disorder covered by the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) and demonstrate a high degree of innovation.
The program funds novel studies that break new ground or extend previous discoveries into new directions or applications. It also supports research with the potential for a breakthrough or for developing new techniques, agents, methodologies, models, or applications that affect biomedical, behavioral, or clinical research. Translational and clinical research by MD investigators is encouraged alongside other research addressing the relevant disorders.
