Description
The New Energy Challenge is an annual competition jointly organised by Shell Ventures, Shell GameChanger, Energy Tech Summit, Rockstart, Unknown Campus and YES!Delft. It connects energy start-ups and scale-ups with experts and investors. Finalists receive training and support to develop their companies and products; winners may receive a collaboration or funding to help scale their businesses.
The 2026 competition seeks scalable, efficient technologies and digital solutions that can integrate with existing infrastructure and help decarbonise and de-fossilise energy operations. Its focus areas are high-integrity biochar carbon removal, low-carbon fuels, water treatment, shipping and maritime solutions, and datacentre grid flexibility.
