Summary: Supervised summer research apprenticeships help new graduates explore a research career in experimental psychology.
Key Information: Applications must come from an EPS ordinary member, not the graduate; only one nomination per department is considered.
The Experimental Psychology Society (EPS) supports new graduates in psychology or a related discipline through supervised research during the summer immediately following their final undergraduate year. The bursary is intended for graduates considering a research career in experimental psychology, with the discipline’s scope defined by the Society’s journals. It operates as a short-term research apprenticeship, prioritising the graduate’s learning experience rather than research outcomes.
Projects must have specific learning aims and objectives. They may extend a third-year project or introduce a new topic or methodology. The graduate works in the applicant’s department, which need not be the institution where they completed their degree. The EPS Committee allocates bursaries, with preference given to first-time applicants.
