Description
The New Jersey Healthy Homes Program is an initiative of the New Jersey Department of Human Services’ Division of Medical Assistance & Health Services (DMAHS), in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (NJDCA). It finances the construction or rehabilitation of approximately 200 deed-restricted rental homes across New Jersey for FamilyCare members experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness or institutionalization.
The program combines development financing with funds to repair and replace building infrastructure and support operating costs or rental assistance. Homes are intended to remain affordable, provide access to the wider community, and respect residents’ privacy and dignity. Managed care organizations (MCOs) identify eligible members, coordinate placements, and support them during their tenancies.
