Description
The New Jersey Department of Health’s Postpartum Resources and Support Network funds work to improve postpartum health outcomes for birthing individuals, infants, and their families. It emphasizes underserved populations, including minority and socioeconomically disadvantaged individuals, and aims to improve birth outcomes, advance equity in maternal and infant health, and reduce stigma surrounding postpartum depression.
The program also supports Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) work: bereavement support, identification of causes and risk factors, and public health education. Education may reach parents and grandparents, healthcare and social service institutions, home visiting programs, and other groups.
