Description
The New Mexico Quantum Technologies Award is a competitive, state-funded program administered by the New Mexico Economic Development Department’s Technology and Innovation Office (TIO). It provides non-dilutive funding to early-stage companies developing quantum and quantum-enabling technologies, including companies already in New Mexico and those establishing a presence in the state. The program aims to expand New Mexico’s economic base, support company growth and relocation, and create technology-sector jobs.
Supported work has included quantum sensing hardware, AI software for operating quantum computers, squeezed laser sources, chip-scale quantum clocks and sensors, quantum memory devices, and quantum dots. Past awards have helped companies expand local operations, hire employees, and advance technologies in collaboration with national laboratory facilities.
