    Description

Applied Microbiology International (AMI) supports newly appointed professionals seeking to establish or advance research in sustainable applied microbiology. The grant provides pump-priming funding to initiate or enhance innovative projects aligned with AMI’s strategic objectives, particularly contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It serves professionals working in academia, industry, clinical practice, and applied research, including lecturers, investigators, assistant professors, assistant researchers, industry scientists, and clinical specialists.

The programme prioritises research with potential for practical, societal, or environmental benefit, alongside project quality, feasibility, and the applicant’s continued professional growth. AMI encourages applications from members in low and low-middle income countries and reserves one award per funding cycle for these applicants. Supported researchers are expected to share their findings through AMI’s communication channels and submit a paper to Sustainable Microbiology.
