Description
The New Professionals Grant is funded by the National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) and awarded annually to promising working court reporters and captioners during their first year out of school. It supports practical start-up expenses, such as purchasing software and earning credentials, as recipients begin their professional careers.
The program serves professionals working in judicial court reporting, including official and freelance work, Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART), or captioning. Rather than funding research projects, it provides assistance with the early professional needs of new practitioners. Recipients are recognized through first-place and second-place awards, and the program’s published recipient history extends from 2005 through 2025.
