The Great Lakes Colleges Association (GLCA) New Writers Award honors outstanding first books in fiction, poetry, or creative non-fiction by authors in the early stages of their careers. The program is designed to foster literary excellence and enrich the academic environment at GLCA member colleges by connecting students and faculty with emerging writers. Award recipients are invited to visit several member campuses to give readings, engage with students and faculty, and participate in creative writing classes, thereby promoting direct literary exchange.
