The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) is soliciting applications to operate seven Safe Option Support (SOS) Critical Time Intervention (CTI) teams in Manhattan. The program uses an evidence-based, time-limited approach to provide intensive outreach, engagement, and care coordination for an estimated 4,500 people experiencing street homelessness in New York City.
Teams support individuals as they transition from street homelessness to housing, providing services before and after placement for up to 12 months. Licensed clinicians, care managers, peer specialists, and registered nurses help members develop daily living skills, connect with treatment, and strengthen community support networks. Teams collaborate with a referral hub, street outreach teams, hospitals, and other partners to promote housing stability, self-advocacy, and continuity of care.
