Key Information: Applicants must be NBS members and early- to mid-career clinicians or researchers based in eligible low- or middle-income economies.
Launched in 2026, the Newborn Brain Society’s Impact Award supports clinically oriented, research, and implementation projects that can improve brain care for newborns and children at a community or population level. Administered through the Society’s Quality Improvement and Research Committee, it focuses on clinicians and researchers in low-income, lower-middle-income, and upper-middle-income economies working in newborn brain health and neurodevelopment.
Supported work can include animal research, clinical research, and quality improvement. Projects must be hypothesis-driven, but need not represent an innovation. Funding can support a new project or completion of an ongoing project. Work within a larger study is eligible when it addresses the applicant’s own substudy or research question, rather than solely completing a mentor’s project.
