Description
The Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) offer these grants to help emerging scholars develop research skills and academic capacity through visits to universities other than their home university. Visits should build scientific knowledge within one of five VREF-supported programs: PRISM, the Walking Cities Lab, POINT, ETAMAC, or MID-UTA. Together, these programs address informal and shared mobility, walking, transport integration, equitable access and mobility in African cities, and urban mobility governance.
Grants primarily support comparative fieldwork, data collection, comparative or localized analysis, and other situated work that strengthens ongoing research. Visits are expected to produce tangible results, such as a collaborative draft paper or material for the scholar’s thesis or project.
