Description
The National Football League Foundation’s Coach of the Week program recognizes high school and flag football coaches whose dedication helps create successful teams and players both on and off the field. Alongside coach recognition, the program provides financial assistance to high schools to maintain and upgrade their football programs.
During each week of the high school football season, local panels of NFL club personnel, sports media, and other VIPs select winners in all NFL markets. Selection considers coaches’ commitment to player health and safety, including teaching fundamentals, proper tackling techniques, concussion management, and heat and hydration guidelines. Following the high school football playoffs, each NFL club selects a Coach of the Year whose football program receives an additional donation.
