    Description

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) administers this program to assist active community water systems with potable atmospheric water storage tanks. Support covers a full tank inspection, tank cleaning, and a report documenting the findings. The program is one of several NHDES efforts intended to help with source water quality and protection, with this program focused specifically on community water storage tanks.

NHDES selects a contractor through a separate competitive bid process to provide services to selected communities. Participating communities coordinate with a certified operator to prepare the tank and oversee the work. The program supports the cleaning, inspection, and findings report rather than local preparation and coordination activities.
