Description
This opportunity supports the implementation of investigator-initiated, milestone-driven clinical trials that require enhanced oversight by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). Applications may include mechanistic studies, which are encouraged to advance the understanding of human diseases and to inform the development of new therapeutic strategies. Only one clinical trial may be proposed per application. The program is structured as a cooperative agreement (U01), ensuring close collaboration and oversight by NIH staff. Applications are subject to NIH peer-review, and only those deemed scientifically meritorious will be considered for funding.
