Description
This opportunity invites applications for Disease Research and Translational Core Centers (P30, Clinical Trial Optional) under the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). These centers are designed to strengthen and support biomedical and translational research in areas such as cystic fibrosis, diabetes, nutrition, obesity, liver, and digestive diseases. The program aims to foster multidisciplinary collaboration, rigor, reproducibility, and research cost efficiencies at institutions with a significant, established research base in one or more of NIDDK’s focus areas.
Centers are expected to:
- Provide a Pilot and Feasibility Grant Program
- Offer a Scientific Catalyst Program (for team building, mentoring, seminars, workshops, and more)
- Share access to specialized core services and equipment
- Create a rich mentoring environment for trainees and early-stage investigators
- Facilitate activities that attract and engage new investigators relevant to the Center’s disease research focus
