Description
The MacArthur Foundation’s Nigeria Next initiative supports work that helps young people in Nigeria shape the country’s social and economic future. Its goal is to expand economic opportunity and civic participation while fostering digital inclusion, creativity, innovation, and evidence-backed government policies.
The initiative funds research, policy development, advocacy, trainings, convenings, and pilot projects. Its four approaches are digital inclusion; hubs, incubators, and working spaces for creativity and innovation; journalism, media, and civic participation; and research and analysis of policies that empower young Nigerians. The program also uses impact investments and thought leadership alongside grants.
