--- ## Description The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), in collaboration with other NIH Institutes and Centers, plans to launch a new funding opportunity to support investigator-initiated research at resource-limited institutions. The program is designed for full-time faculty who have not previously received independent, peer-reviewed, external research grants. The goal is to provide high-quality undergraduate and/or graduate research experiences for students and to strengthen the scientific research culture at eligible institutions. This is a forecasted Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). The advance notice is intended to give potential applicants time to develop collaborations and prepare responsive projects.
