This fellowship provides salary and/or direct experimental support for women cardiac surgical trainees who wish to gain investigational skills in cardiac surgery. Emphasis is placed on the applicant’s potential, prior accomplishments, and the quality of the proposed educational and research experience, including the training environment and evidence of strong mentorship. The program seeks to advance the careers of women in cardiac surgery by supporting meaningful research experiences that are likely to be completed successfully and contribute significantly to the field.
