Description
The Waterbird Society offers the Nisbet Research Award to support waterbird research and conservation, with a preference for work on terns or gulls. The award grew from an endowment Ian and Shirley Nisbet began building in 2000. Ian Nisbet’s research on terns and gulls helped shape the award’s focus.
The Society seeks scientifically meritorious projects likely to make timely, substantial contributions to the published literature or meaningful contributions to waterbird conservation. It expects recipients to publish their findings in peer-reviewed outlets, acknowledge the award and the Society, and report their results to its Grants Committee.
