Description
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) administers this program through its Division of Sustainable Waste Management, Bureau of Planning and Licensing. Supported by the State Recycling Fund under N.J.S.A. 13:1E-96(b)(5), it funds recycling demonstration, research, education, and professional training that advance the Recycling Enhancement Act. Projects may improve existing resources, tools, or methodologies, or create new resources that benefit recycling goals in New Jersey.
NJDEP favors work that produces information useful for practical applications, regulatory decisions, programs, and processes, while considering project costs. It also prefers partnerships with qualified entities whose specific expertise strengthens the work. Proposals may address designated research topics or propose innovative, open-ended work within the law’s scope.
