Description
The Sewer Overflow and Stormwater Reuse Municipal Grants program (OSG) supports infrastructure addressing combined sewer overflows (CSOs), sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs), and stormwater management. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection administers the federally funded program through the New Jersey Water Bank, a partnership with the New Jersey Infrastructure Bank. Funding supports capital improvements, including infrastructure planning, design, construction, and equipment purchases—not operations and maintenance.
The program prioritizes disadvantaged communities, projects implementing sewer overflow long-term control plans, and projects included in the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) Intended Use Plan. Further priorities include serving overburdened communities, removing flow from systems or flood-prone areas, and using green technology. Awards depend on project rank and readiness to proceed.
