Description
This program offers substantial financial incentives for the purchase of new zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty vehicles (ZEVs) for commercial, industrial, and institutional use in New Jersey. The initiative is designed to reduce the higher upfront costs of ZEVs compared to diesel or gasoline vehicles, with the goal of advancing clean transportation, reducing emissions (especially in overburdened communities), and supporting economic opportunity. The program is funded by the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) and is administered by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA).
Vouchers are available for eligible vehicles purchased from approved New Jersey dealers. Multiple bonus incentives are available for small businesses, certified woman-, minority-, or veteran-owned businesses, school bus purchases, and for scrappage of old vehicles. The program runs on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until all funds are committed.
