Description
The New Jersey Commission on Cancer Research (NJCCR), within the New Jersey Department of Health, funds two-year pilot projects intended to advance cancer research in the state. The program addresses genetic, biochemical, viral, microbiological, and environmental causes of cancer. Its stated priority areas also include cancer health disparities, palliative care and pain management, survivorship, the psychosocial effects of cancer, immunotherapy and biologics, and artificial intelligence for cancer research. Clinical trials are excluded from the cancer health disparities priority area.
NJCCR aims to support scientists and scholars while generating research and data that can strengthen future funding proposals. The pilot grant is not intended as a long-term funding mechanism.
