    Description

The NMDP Amy Strelzer Manasevit Research Program supports early-career researchers addressing potentially life-threatening complications after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) or cell therapy. It funds clinical and pre-clinical investigations into acute and late complications, including infection, organ toxicity, relapse and graft-versus-host disease. The program aims to attract new talent, help investigators develop research portfolios and establish laboratories, and improve patients’ lives after treatment.

NMDP prioritizes strategies to improve outcomes following HLA-mismatched unrelated donor transplantation, cell therapies involving unrelated donors, survivorship and supportive care. For the 2027 awards, it specifically prefers proposals involving mismatched unrelated donor HCT. These studies may use available data or samples from NMDP-sponsored, CIBMTR-led clinical trials.
