The Northern New York Library Network supports member initiatives that advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through collections, staffing, programming, policies, and leadership. The program focuses on representation of BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, neurodivergent, unhoused, and other under- or misrepresented populations experiencing social biases, discrimination, erasure, and environmental inequities.
Drawing on the Regents Advisory Council on Libraries’ Vision 2022, the grant supports libraries, archives, and museums working toward more just, equitable, and healthy communities. It reflects the Network’s commitment to examining unconscious biases and developing workplaces that model socioeconomic and racial equity. Projects should foster brave environments and address the experiences of marginalized populations in North Country cultural institutions.
