Description
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Water Quality Control Division administers RFA #224 through its Nonpoint Source (NPS) Program. Funding comes from EPA Clean Water Act Section 319(h) grants and supports two objectives: restoring waterbodies impaired by nonpoint source pollution and protecting waterbodies affected or threatened by it. Projects must align with Colorado’s 2022 Nonpoint Source Management Plan.
The opportunity funds development or updates of EPA nine-element watershed-based plans and implementation of restoration or protection practices. Restoration implementation targets selenium, pathogens, sediment, nutrients, and impairments demonstrably attributable to nutrients. Protection projects may use structural or non-structural best management practices. Applications may combine planning and implementation work. This RFA is separate from the NPS Mini Grant Program.
