Description
The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin administers the Nonprofit Access Grant through the Wisconsin Universal Service Fund. It provides partial funding for nonprofit programs and projects that make a basic set of essential telecommunications services affordable for Wisconsin residents with low incomes or disabilities, or residents in areas where telecommunications services cost relatively more.
Projects must address a public need not currently being met through affordable telecommunications access. Previously funded activities have included access to services such as hotspots, devices needed to use those services, and training needed to use telecommunications devices and services. The program is intended for projects serving the specified residents, rather than telecommunications projects without that connection.
