Description
The Vermont Community Foundation’s Nonprofit Capacity Building program supports consultant fees for high-level organizational planning. It helps nonprofits and municipalities strengthen their ability to serve communities, make confident decisions about the future, and build long-term stability. The emphasis is on critical planning rather than day-to-day operations or implementation of strategic and financial plans.
Supported work includes strategic planning, financial sustainability and revenue diversification, merger planning, diversity, equity, and inclusion policy development and implementation, and focused board and leadership training that benefits the organization over time. Consultant-led planning may also address changes in federal funding or policies by exploring staffing models, reevaluating programs, or revisiting revenue plans. Grants supplement other funding, with priority given to smaller-budget organizations.
