This program provides targeted capacity-building support to nonprofits serving Worcester County, Massachusetts. Grants are intended to help organizations strengthen internal systems, manage change, develop inclusive leadership, address legal and communication needs, and plan for contingencies. The goal is to foster more resilient, equitable, and effective nonprofits that can better fulfill their missions and serve their communities.
Supported activities include organizational audits, infrastructure improvements, executive transitions, strategic planning (for major shifts), board and leadership development, DEIA education, legal counsel for organizational changes, contingency planning, and crisis communications. The program does not support salaries, routine operational costs, capital projects (except limited software/equipment as part of a larger project), pilot programs, mergers, or reimbursements for work already completed.
