Description
The Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) is a competitive DHS/FEMA program administered in Idaho by the Idaho Office of Emergency Management (IOEM). It funds facility and target hardening, physical security and cybersecurity enhancements, and related preparedness activities for nonprofit organizations at high risk of terrorist or other extremist attacks. Supported work includes security planning, equipment acquisition and installation, training, exercises, and contracted security for special events.
The program aims to protect nonprofit facilities and the people who use them while integrating nonprofit preparedness with broader state and local efforts. Coordination, information sharing, and collaboration with community representatives and government agencies are central goals. Idaho participates in NSGP-State (NSGP-S), rather than NSGP-Urban Area, because it has no qualifying designated high-risk urban area.
