Description
The Nonprofit Security Grant Program is administered in Massachusetts by the Office of Grants and Research (OGR), which submits eligible applications to the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). It supports 501(c)(3) nonprofits at risk of terrorist or other extremist attack, including organizations facing hate-crime threats.
Funding is intended to improve security at a nonprofit’s physical site and integrate its preparedness with broader state and local efforts. Eligible activities described in the funding notice include facility hardening, security equipment, planning, maintenance, security-related training and exercises, and contracted security. Projects must address an identified threat and vulnerability and be feasible and effective at reducing the risk.
