Description
The Northeast Kingdom Fund is a permanent philanthropic resource administered by the Vermont Community Foundation. Established in 2011 with local partners, it makes annual grants supporting people and communities in Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties. The fund generally supports small-scale, community-based projects where a modest investment can advance a new idea, leverage other grant dollars, or make a beneficial project possible. More established organizations may also receive awards.
Funding prioritizes projects or organizations based in the Northeast Kingdom that provide services directly to residents. Projects emerging from the local community or responding directly to community needs are especially relevant. A review committee of Kingdom residents makes funding recommendations to the Foundation, reflecting the fund’s commitment to philanthropy “for the Kingdom, by the Kingdom.”
