The Research Council of Norway, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and the Singapore Maritime Institute are preparing a bilateral maritime research and innovation call. Building on the countries’ long-standing research partnership, the initiative will support joint projects involving eligible research organisations in Norway and Singapore. Its goal is to address maritime challenges and opportunities through sustainable solutions with international relevance.
The proposed scope covers alternative fuels and energy infrastructure, vessel energy efficiency and emission reduction, and digitalisation, autonomy and green shipping corridors. Research interests range from fuel safety and bunkering to marine electrification, hydrodynamic optimisation, onboard energy management, voyage optimisation and interoperable ship-port-logistics data. The framework is being finalised, with the confirmed scope and detailed arrangements to be published at the formal launch.
