Description
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) provide cost-share grants to governmental units working with livestock owners and operators. Projects implement best management practices (BMPs) to address pollution discharges from animal feeding operations and improve affected water quality. Funded practices must satisfy the conditions of a DNR Notice of Discharge (NOD) or Notice of Intent to Issue a Notice of Discharge (NOI).
This is a reimbursement program. After a grant agreement is issued, the governmental unit arranges cost-sharing with the landowner and requests reimbursement from DNR after paying the landowner. The grant agreement sets the cost-share rate.
